The Office of Child Care and Development will be open limited hours during summer break, June 9th thru August 22nd.  Please note the following:
  • Closed for lunch 11:30 AM-1:00 PM
  • Closed on the following days: June 27; July 4, 11, 18, 25; August 1, 8 and 15
  • Families will be seen by appointment only.  Please call to schedule an appointment.

The Office of Child Care and Development operates eight on-campus, before and after school childcare programs; two before and after school programs for low-income families and one full day state preschool.

The Office of Child Care and Development is a FRAGRANCE-FREE ENVIRONMENT.  If planning a visit to our Office, please refrain from wearing any scented product; including, but not limited to, perfumes, colognes and lotions.  If you arrive at our Office wearing any type of scented product, you will be asked to step outside.  Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

The Office of Child Care and Development is open Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM.  Our Office may at times be open limited hours.  PLEASE CALL IN ADVANCE WHEN PLANNING A VISIT TO OUR OFFICE.  The Office of Child Care and Development is closed on all school holidays; including, but not limited to Thanksgiving, winter and spring breaks.



FUN CLUB
Before & After School Childcare & Enrichment
Kindergarten-6th Grade

        
The Fun Club is an on campus, before and after school childcare program operated by the Chino Valley Unified School District Office of Child Care and Development.  The Fun Clubs are staffed with caring adults who meet the No Child Left Behind requirements and hold a minimum of six Early Childhood Education college-level units.  Our Fun Clubs provide a safe and enriching environment where children can complete their homework, explore their own unique interests through enrichment activities and receive a nutritious snack after school.

FUN CLUB ENROLLMENT

PLEASE CONTACT THE OFFICE OF CHILD CARE AND DEVELOPMENT REGARDING FUN CLUB SPACE AVAILABILITY FOR 2014-2015. 
Limited space is still available at some Fun Club locations.  The Office of Child Care and Development cannot guarantee space availability.  Space is offered on a first come, first serve basis.  When childcare space is not available at a program, families are wait listed in the order in which they contact the Office of Child Care and Development.

If space is available at your Fun Club, a fully completed enrollment packet must be submitted in person to the Office of Child Care and Development.  We are located in Room 17 on the Adult School Campus at 12970 Third Street, in Chino.  Please park in the parking lot located on Monte Vista Avenue.  You will need to walk across the black top area to the last row of classrooms back-to-back with Riverside Drive.  Please call in advance when planning a visit to our Office.

Please bring your current picture identification card or driver's license with you.  Payment of the enrollment fee and first week's tuition is REQUIRED on the day you submit your enrollment packet.  

Please refrain from wearing any scented product when visiting our Office.  If you arrive wearing any scented product, you will be asked to step outside.  Scented products are FATAL to some staffs.

FUN CLUB HOURS OF OPERATION

All programs must maintain sufficient enrollment to fully fund the cost of Fun Club operations.  When a Fun Club location fails to fully fund the cost to support its operation, whether in all or part of the program, action may be taken to close or modify the program. 

Each Fun Club's hours of operation are based on current enrollment and school bell schedule.  The hours of operation is subject to change whenever there is a change in school bell schedule and/or a significant drop in enrollment.

FUN CLUB OPERATIONAL DAYS

Fun Club operates according to the Chino Valley Unified School District School Calendar.  Fun Club is closed on all non-school days.  Unless otherwise noted, all Fun Clubs will be CLOSED on the following days during the 2014-2015 Fun Club contract year:

June 6 - August 22, 2014 - Summer Break
Monday, September 1, 2014 - Labor Day
Monday & Tuesday, November 10 & 11, 2014 - Veteran's Day
Monday, January 19, 2015 - Martin Luther King Day
Monday, February 9, 2015 - Lincoln's Birthday
Monday, February 16, 2015 - Washington's Birthday
Monday, May 25, 2015 - Memorial Day

The Office of Child Care and Development DOES NOT adjust tuition for the above listed days Fun Club is closed.  All families are required to pay their FULL weekly tuition for the above listed weeks.

Unless otherwise noted, all Fun Clubs will be CLOSED on the following Breaks during the 2014-2015 Fun Club contract year:

Friday, June 6 - Friday, August 22, 2014 - Summer Break
Monday-Friday, November 24-28, 2014 - Thanksgiving Break
Monday-Friday, December 22, 2014-January 2, 2015 - Winter Break

Tuition is not required for the above listed Breaks Fun Club is closed.

The last day of Fun Club for the 2014-2015 school year is the last day of school, Tuesday, June 9, 2015.

SUBSIDIZED CHILDCARE PROGRAMS
Liberty & Newman Child Development Centers 
Chino Children's Center


Liberty & Newman Child Development Centers: The Child Development Centers provide before, after school and summer childcare and enrichment for students enrolled in grades K-6th.  At the Child Development Centers, children participate in enrichment activities, are provided with homework assistance, enjoy a nutritious snack and have time to play with and make new friends! 

Before and after school childcare is available at the Newman and Liberty Child Development Centers.  Summer childcare is available only at the Liberty Child Development Center. 

Families must meet the following requirements to enroll:
 

  • Child must be enrolled in grades K-6th
  • Childcare is only provided for low-income parents who work or go to school
  • Proof of residency (copy of bill showing 9-digit zip code)
  • Proof of income
  • Proof of need
  • Copy of birth certificates for every child in the home, under the age of 18 
  • Legal notice of Separation or Divorce and court order stipulating child support, if applicable 
  • Additional requirements for parents in school or training
     
Chino Children's Center:  The Chino Children's Center is a full-day state preschool program.  The Chino Children's Center is located on the Adult School Campus, in the city of Chino.  The preschool instructional program includes age-appropriate curriculum with a variety of developmental and enrichment activities to foster growth in the following areas of the child's development:  cognitive, physical and language development; creative, nutritional, self-help and social skills.

Families must meet the following requirements to enroll:

  • Child must be 3-4 years of age
  • Childcare is only provided for low-income families who work or go to school
  • Proof of residency (copy of bill showing 9-digit zip code)
  • Proof of income
  • Proof of need
  • Copy of birth certificate for every child in the home, under the age of 18
  • Updated immunization records for every child enrolled
  • Legal notice of Separation or Divorce and court order stipulating child support, if applicable
  • Additional requirements for parents in school or training

*GROSS MONTHLY INCOME = Income BEFORE DEDUCTIONS for all adults residing in your household from all income sources.  Do not count earnings for a child under 18 years old, loans/grants/scholarships for school purposes, uniform allowances, federal supplemental security income (SSI), or state supplemental program benefits (SSP).

SOAR (Students On A Rise)
After School Academic Program
1st-6th Grade

SOAR (Students On A Rise) is an after school academic program located on the Anna Borba, Levi Dickey, Doris Dickson, Alicia Cortez, EJ Marshall and Walnut Elementary School campuses.  SOAR is not a child care program.  It is a voluntary 5-day a week after school academic program for students in grades 1st-6th who attend the above listed schools.  Pick-up time for all students is 6:00 PM.  SOAR is closed on all non-school days.   

SOAR denial and acceptance letters have been mailed out.  If you did not receive a letter, you can contact Terri Trembly at (909)628-1201, Ext. 8990, AFTER August 18, 2014.  Please DO NOT contact our Office prior to August 18th.
 
At this time, the Office of Child Care and Development is NOT adding families to the SOAR wait list.

 Child Development Programs
The Office of Child Care and Development operates 3 state-subsidized Child Development Programs: Chino Children's Center and Libery & Newman Child Development Centers.

The Chino Children's Center is a full day state preschool, for children 3-4 years old. The Children's Center is located on the Adult School Campus at 12970 Third Street, in the city of Chino.

The Child Development Center is a before/after and summer childcare and enrichment program for kindergarten thru 6th grade students. Child Development Centers are located on Newman and Liberty Elementary School campuses.

Families must meet income and need criteria to qualify for the Chino Children's Center or the Child Development Program.

Enrollment forms must be submitted in person to the Office of Child Care and Development. All other forms can be emailed or faxed to our Office upon completion.
